One of horror’s most transformative actors has done it again. We have our first look at The Crow remake, giving us a clear view of Bill Skarsgård as Eric Draven. In the three images, we see his rock-hard abs and a generous number of tattoos (seen below).
The film is based on the 1994 classic that was the last feature from the late Brandon Lee, who originally played the It star’s role. Based on the graphic novels by James O’Barr and written for the big screen by Zach Baylin and Will Schneider, the modernized version follows Eric and his soulmate Shelly (FKA Twigs), who are murdered after her past catches up with them. Eric takes a dark chance to save his love by going on a brutal path of revenge.

The first images of The Crow, giving us a glimpse at Shelly and Eric, come from Vanity Fair. Director Rupert Sanders told the outlet that the leading star was right for the role as he “has a disturbing beauty, and as he transforms through his loss, he becomes this thing that even he can’t control.”
The two leads will be joined by Danny Huston, Laura Birn, Jordan Bolger, Isabella Wei, David Bowles, Sami Bouajila, and Dukagjin Podrimaj.
This will not be the first time this year that we will see Bill Skarsgård transform for The Crow. By the end of the year, he will turn into a vampire for the upcoming Nosferatu remake by The Northman director Robert Eggers. The filmmaker said that the John Wick 4 actor was “so transformed, I’m fearful that he might not get the credit that he deserves because he’s just… he’s not there.”
No trailer has been set yet, but with these first images, we can hope it will come soon. The remake will be released in theaters on June 7.
