The newest BitLife challenge, the Under the Sea Challenge, has arrived! Based on the story of The Little Mermaid, the challenge asks you to become a marine biologist who marries royalty! This guide will comprehensively explain how to complete the Under the Sea Challenge in BitLife.
How to Complete the Under the Sea Challenge in BitLife
The Under the Sea Challenge in BitLife has five tasks you need to complete:
- Be born a female in Denmark
- Become a marine biologist
- Have an enemy named Ursula
- Achieve a 100% Voice skill level
- Marry into royalty
Start a new life as a female born in Denmark. It doesn’t matter where you are born as long as you set your starting country as Denmark. From here, age up until your character until you unlock Vocal Lessons under the Activities tab. Take 3-4 vocal lessons each year until you max out the skill bar to get 100% Voice skill level. Simultaneously, maintain high smarts and get a scholarship to university, so your character doesn’t go into debt. While this isn’t required for the challenge, it’ll make it easier to progress throughout your character’s life.
Once your character graduates high school, enrol into university and select Biology as your major. After graduating from university, enter Graduate school and repeat the process until you graduate a second time. After finishing Graduate school, go back to the occupation tab and select full-time job listings. Check the listings for a Jr. Marine Biologist position. If it does not appear, age up and recheck the listings every year until it shows up. Apply for the interview and pass to become a Jr. Marine Biologist. Work hard every year until you’re promoted to a Marine Biologist.

There are two main methods to getting an enemy named Ursula. The first is to use God Mode to change someone’s name to Ursula before making them your enemy. Alternatively, if you do not have God Mode, you can use the Custom People creator to add a character named Ursula. If you do this, random NPCs in your character’s life will appear with the name. After finding your custom Ursula, follow these steps:
- Befriend her to have her appear on your Relationships list.
- Click on her name at the top of the screen in the Relationships tab and press “Change our status”.
- In the drop-down menu that appears, choose to make Ursula your enemy.
Marrying into the royal family is the hardest part of this challenge. Once your character is old enough to date, go into the Activities tab and pick Love. There is a very low chance that you will find someone who is royalty. If particular, if you are wealthy and have high stats, your chances of finding someone from the royal family will slightly increase. However, the chances are low regardless, so you’ll likely have to spend several years attempting to find someone that is part of the royal family. You’ll know that you’ve found someone in the royal family when you find a character wearing a crown.
