After you reach the max level in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, you can enter the Prestige mode where you reset all your unlocked items, and make a fresh start. You’ll be rewarded with exclusive items that are worth it, though, but you should know that if you chicken out on your grind, the game literally calls you out.
The first Call of Duty game to feature the Prestige levelling system was with Modern Warfare in 2007. Then it was integrated into World At War the year after, and then MW2 in 2009. However, the MW2 version of this grind featured an option where you could just quit the prestige process and get back to your max-level account with everything unlocked. But if you did so, the game would play the sound of a chicken, calling you out for being scared of the hard work.
Fast forward to 2024, Black Ops 6 also features the Prestige system with much better rewards than any other Call of Duty game, but again, if you quit, the game calls you a chicken just like how MW2 did 15 years ago. The sound of the chicken is different this time, but it’s still just as humiliating.
This is a very nice addition and serves as a neat easter egg to the game. It also goes to show the attention to detail employed by the developers behind this year’s Call of Duty. This is a different approach to the Prestige system since we last saw it in Vanguard, where you didn’t lose a tooth over entering Prestige.
How To Prestige In Black Ops 6?
Once you reach level 55 in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, you’ll receive a notification to prestige your account. You can also access the Prestige menu from the Customization tab, and see all the rewards that you can unlock in there. With every Prestige, you’ll unlock items that are inspired by all the previous Call of Duty games developed by the Treyarch Studios.
