Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Citadelle des Morts map has been revealed in a brand new gameplay trailer and it’s showcasing a ton of details about the map such as a new perk, a double-headed zombie that’s defending the Juggernog machine, the swords, and a lot more to dive into.
“You,… I know who you are, and why you are here.” These are the words that we start the Citadelle des Morts gameplay trailer with, and it’s probably the man we’re hunting, Gabriel Krafft. Now, for the unaware, Krafft was a demonologist back in Call of Duty: Vanguard, and he shouldn’t be alive and kicking in the ’90s for his age. However, he’s seemingly studied medieval alchemy by following the works of Alister Rhodes, and that is the key to his presence in Black Ops 6 Zombies.

Other than that, less story-driven content is in the Citadelle des Morts trailer and the focus goes on the new Black Ops 6 Zombies gameplay features. Let’s start with the swords! As confirmed by Kevin Drew of Treyarch, there are four elemental swords that players can achieve by following the game’s quest and solving the easter eggs. And let’s just take a moment and say, they look sick!

The powers are not confirmed yet, but it’s safe to assume that we’ve got lightning, fire, and shadow rift swords all coming with the Citadelle des Morts map. There’s also a fourth sword you can see in the image above, but its power is unknown as we never see the characters actually using it in the video. But we know their names:
- Caliburn: Dragon’s Fire
- Durendal: Stag of the Storms
- Balmung: Raven’s Shadow
- Solais: Lion of Light

This is another big reveal that we have in the Citadelle des Morts gameplay trailer, showcasing a new enemy type that might give us some challenge to defeat. Its powers are unknown, but we know that it involves a bit of Omnimovement as it dashes to the sides making it harder to track and land our shots.

One other thing that’s grabbing a lot of attention is the sort of ritual that’s going on in a small part of the trailer. There are definitely more magic-related items and references here and there on this map, with medieval alchemy and the Sentinel Artifacts as the cherry on top. These are all Chaos timeline references and connections to Black Ops 5 Zombies, which you can read a full in-depth story here.
Alongside the swords and the reveal of this medieval-themed map, there are a bunch of other items coming to the game. We’ll have the Vulture Aid perk, a new healing ammo mod, and some more all of which you can read about in the post tagged below!
Citadelle des Morts map will be available to play on December 5, 2024, in Black Ops 6 Zombies, so, get ready for downloading a hefty update.
