There were two intriguing rumours concerning Blackberry’s newest smartphone, codename Venice. According to reports, the slider design smartphone is set to release November this year.
Previously on Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015, Blackberry CEO John Chen introduced Blackberry 10 device with a slider design keyboard which allows use of both qwerty on-board keyboard and touch-screen keyboard. It is recently known that the said device is codenamed: Venice.
According to a report from Ubergizmo, November is strongly expected to be the month the device will release to the public. This speculation is backed up with Blackberry history when releasing new product, where their latest smartphone (the Blackberry Passport) was released on November, after it was announced at MWC 2014.
Ubergizmo posted the phone specification as follow:
Blackberry Venice will have a 5,1 inch screen, 1440 2560 Quad HD, 1.8GHz hexacore 64-bit Snapdragon 808 processor from Qualcomm with 3GM RAM, 18 megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front camera.
Another report suggests that this smartphone will have Android as its operating system. Last week, a source from Reuter claimed that Blackberry is considering to put Android system the new device, and it is widely rumoured that the said device is Blackberry Venice.
However, Blackberry hasn’t confirmed any of these rumours yet. We have to wait until this phone is released.
