Following months of indefinite delays, Blade, Captain America: New World Order, and other highly-anticipated Marvel movies have received new release schedules. Deadpool 3‘s release date is slated for the summer of 2024. Unfortunately, Marvel fans must wait longer to see their other favorite superheroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
As reported by Deadline, the MCU movies currently impacted by the delays include Deadpool 3, Captain America: New World Order, Blade, and Thunderbolts. Interestingly, Fantastic Four was the only 2024/2025 MCU movie not pushed back despite receiving prior delays and creative changes.
Check out the updated MCU release dates for 2024 and 2025:
- Deadpool 3 Release Date: July 26, 2024
- Captain America: New World Order Release Date: February 14, 2025
- Fantastic Four Release Date: May 2, 2025
- Thunderbolts Release Date: July 25, 2025
- Blade Release Date: November 7, 2025
Why Was Deadpool 3’s Release Date Delayed?
Many studios’ biggest blockbusters were put on hold amid the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Following a tentative agreement earlier this week, SAG-AFTRA actors are back to work — and Marvel Studios is seemingly eager to get its schedule back on track.
This week, Ryan Reynolds shared an exclusive look at “Dogpool” to share his commitment to a summer 2024 Deadpool 3 release date. The new MCU release schedule seemingly confirms that all is on track. However, scheduling conflicts, further strikes, and various other factors could still change these dates, so it may be too early to mark your calendars.
Deadpool 3 and Blade will introduce Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds), Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Blade (Mahershala Ali), and more to Marvel’s multiverse. Meanwhile, Captain America 4 and Thunderbolts will see characters like Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) step into new roles. However, with the recent release of The Marvels, it will be at least nine months before audiences see another MCU movie.
