Blake Lively is trying her best to make amends with her former bestie, Taylor Swift. The Gossip Girl star was rumored to have fallen out of favor with the singer after Taylor’s name was dragged into the drama surrounding Blake’s scandalous lawsuit with her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni. Since that time, Swift and Lively haven’t been seen together, and it’s been speculated that the two had some major bad blood following the release of some private texts between Lively and Baldoni.
Page Six reports that Blake Lively has reached out to Taylor Swift and offered her apologies for the situation. As many fans may remember, leaked text messages revealed that Blake referred to herself as Khaleesi from Game of Thrones, and called both her husband Ryan Reynolds and good friend Taylor her “dragons.”
There was also talk that Lively used Swift’s huge fame to influence Baldoni to side with her about creative choices on the film. It was reported that Taylor was not happy about having her name and influence thrown around, causing a rift between her and Blake. However, things may be on an upswing for the former friends.
Blake Lively and Taylor Swift Ready For a Fresh Start?
“It was important to Blake to be on good terms again with Taylor. It was never her intention to hurt Taylor or cause any harm to their friendship,” an insider dished. “Blake missed their friendship and she hopes they can put this whole thing behind them.”
The source went on to reveal that Swift accepted Lively’s apology, and thought it to be “genuine.” However, fans aren’t so sure.
“So Blake went crawling back to Taylor. She needs Tay to help revamp her image and make her more likable but it might be too late,” one person commented.
“Blake is just trying to win back fans. If she has Swift she thinks all the little Swifties will swarm to be on her side and that will help her reputation,” another wrote.
“This feels like such a PR move. They’re getting ready to soft re-launch their friendship,” a third person stated.
“I don’t believe they ever stopped speaking,” a fourth comment read.
Blake Lively and Taylor Swift have a long history together. The two have been close friends for years. The singer even serves as godmother to the children that Blake shares with husband, Ryan Reynolds. It seems that the women would want to save the friendship if possible. However, it won’t be confirmed until they’re spotted out in public together.
