Blake Shelton, a long-time coach and judge on The Voice, rarely brings his tragedies to the forefront. However, he recently shared an emotional moment with NOIVAS. Fans are aware that Blake Shelton will be saying goodbye to his fellow The Voice judges as this is his final season. He already assured everyone that there would be no tears as he departed. But his recent encounter with a teammate shows intense emotions.
The Playoff Round That Had Blake Shelton And NOIVAS On An Emotional Streak on ‘The Voice’
On a recent The Voice episode, Blake Shelton visited a member of his teammate, NOIVAS, in the rehearsal studio. Per ET, the duo discussed their similarities while they geared up for The Beatles’ “Come Together.”
NOIVAS told his coach they possess a visible likeness, including their looks and height. He also pointed to their past tragedies. The men had lost brothers during their younger years.
The contestant mentioned losing his brother when he was 21. NOIVAS’ brother was Alfred, a family man who worked as a physical therapist. Despite not being around for long, Alfred motivated the singer to follow his passion. He revealed that after losing her brother, he became fearless.
On the other hand, Blake Shelton’s brother died when the country crooner was only 14. He was a music lover and would often turn up the stereo in his truck. Shelton revealed that his brother would have been so proud seeing the career path he chose. Unfortunately, unlike NOIVAS’ brother, his own wasn’t around long enough. Shelton added:
“That’s cool, that your brother got to see you do it.”
Kelly Clarkson Gets Candid About Shelton’s Final Season
Blake Shelton might not have been as lucky as NOIVAS, but The Voice judge has made quite the impact. Without having his brother— a music fanatic around, he was able to make the best out of his talent.
Shelton, who joined the singing competition in its first season, has motivated a handful of singers. Apart from that, he has the most wins on the show. While his expertise cannot be contested, he gets quite the competition from other judges. While speaking to a news outlet about his departure, Kelly Clarkson, a fellow judge, said she would not be rooting for him. Though she would love to experience the final season with Shelton, she chimed:
“I’m not, like, rooting for him to win.”
Clarkson maintained that it would be a phenomenal victory if Shelton’s team emerged victorious, as it is his last season. But she did not hide her keenness to take home the trophy for herself. The talk show host is not new to victories. She has won in seasons 14, 15, 17, and 21.
Other judges who have grabbed the trophy include Adam Levine, now ex-panelist and Shelton’s arch-rival. He won the first season, seasons 5 and 9. Former judges, including Gwen Stefani, John Legend, Pharell Williams, Alicia Keys, Usher, and Christina Aguilera, have one win. As mentioned above, Blake Shelton has the most wins. So far, he has won The Voice nine times. His victories were in seasons 2, 3, 4, 7, 11, 13, 18, 20, and 22.
