Jason Blum’s company Blumhouse has now set its sites on video games; they are now launching a horror games division. Considering the production company makes mainly horror films, it’s no surprise that is the genre they’d focus on. The horror games division will be called Blumhouse Games. The subsidiary wants to use an “indie budget”, meaning under $10 million, and will “enable innovation and push creative boundaries.” The video game producer Zach Wood will be the president of the division, while the ex-PlayStation exec Don Sechler will be the CFO. Blumhouse will partner with independent game developers to see their creative visions for their original, horror-themed games through. Their games will be available on PCs, consoles, and mobile devices. Blumhouse president Abhijay Prakash believes Wood and Sechler are the right people to steer them in the direction of their new journey. Jason Blum’s company is evolving into the game space.
Jason Blum’s Ambition for his Production Company is Endless
He most recently co-wrote the script for the horror film M3GAN, which already has a sequel in the works. So far Blumhouse has produced more than 150 movies and television series. Their projects have grossed over $5 billion. Now Jason Blum’s production company Blumhouse is using a different medium to tell its terrifying tales. Blumhouse have chosen the video game veterans Wood and Sechler to start their horror video game division. Blum founded his production company back in 2000. The company has funded multiple film franchises including Paranormal Activity and The Purge. Blumhouse invests in making original stories and they are applying it to their horror video games division. The production company’s most recent film M3GAN is already a pop-culture sensation as Paranormal Activity was when it was released. Jason Blum’s company is reaching new heights but still holds steady in wanting to make original content.
