Chaos erupted at a recent Yung Gravy concert in San Luis Obispo, California when a group of young girls tried to “out-Karen” an elderly woman in the crowd. What started as a minor confrontation quickly escalated, drawing the attention of fellow concertgoers as the older woman (read: Boomer Karen) stood her ground and firmly shut down the group’s antics. The incident, captured on video, has since gone viral, sparking conversations about entitlement and respect.
The video was filmed in the middle of a packed crowd at the Fremont Theater during Yung Gravy’s performance on October 28, 2025. In the footage, a group of teenage girls surrounds an older woman, hinting that something may’ve happened before the camera started rolling. This becomes even more evident when the elderly woman — who has a smug look on her face — can be heard yelling, “And you look like a [expletive]!” to one of the younger girls.
As the gig is still underway, it’s quite difficult to make out what is being said, but one of the young girls can be heard, exclaiming, “Why are you calling 16-year-old girls [expletive]?” The elderly woman refuses to back down and fires back, “Why do you guys care about me?” as she turns to look at several of the teens who are sniggering behind her. With a wave of her hand, she insists, “Watch the show! [expletive] off!” before giving the girls a middle-finger.
The teenage girls don’t want to let it go, however, and continue their back and forth with the woman, but she retorts, “Leave me the [expletive] alone. You all are [expletive].” It’s at this point, where it appears that the boomer Karen throws her drink at one of the young girls.
Unsurprisingly, social media users flooded the comments to weigh in on the heated confrontation. Many reactions believed that much of the boomer Karen’s frustrations stemmed from jealousy, with one Redditor writing, “Pure unadulterated jealousy of youth.” and another on Instagram adding, “She’s the type of woman that’s jealous of her daughter for being young“. Elsewhere, however, some netizens sided with the elderly woman, with one person chipping in with, “if yall can’t handle the pit, buy seats 😂😂” and another declaring, “I’m on the older lady’s side. Y’all were too much.“
