Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson shared a video of his reunion with his The Mummy Returns co-star Brendan Fraser. The Mummy Returns was The Rock’s feature film debut. He played Mathayus of Akkad/The Scorpion King in the action-adventure sequel film and Brendan Fraser reprised his role as Rick O’Connell. The 2002 action-adventure film sequel grossed $439 million at the box office. The Rock went on to star in the Mummy spin-off film The Scorpion King, as the lead. A lot has changed since then, The Rock is a movie star and Brendan Fraser is an Oscar winner. The Rock was a presenter at the 2023 Oscars. The two stars also starred in different films for the Journey to the Center of the Earth films. The Rock said in his post that he felt a “full circle moment” with his reunion with his The Mummy Returns co-star Brendan Fraser.
Brendan Fraser and The Rock are Stars in Their Own Rights
The Rock’s movies have made over a billion dollars at the box office. Brendan Fraser hadn’t been in the spotlight much over the past decade but has made quite the comeback with his role in The Whale. The Rock remarked on his reunion with The Mummy Returns co-star Brendan Fraser backstage at the 2023 Oscars. He said Fraser “welcomed him with open arms” during his film debut. Fraser’s role in The Mummy movies is one of his fan’s favorite roles. Fraser has had many ups and downs in his personal and professional life, but his fans have never stopped supporting him. The Rock is a sought-after action star now, but he was transitioning from professional wrestling to movies in the early 2000s. It goes to show from Brendan Fraser and The Rock’s reunion long after The Mummy Returns, that kindness is memorable.
Maybe the stars will be in a movie together again, but not through computer-generated imagery.
