According to the receptionist, the woman received a pedicure at the salon but refused to pay when it was time to settle the bill. The receptionist, who identified as Asian American, also claimed that the customer made remarks that they interpreted as racist, which led them to describe the situation that way as well.
When the receptionist asked her to explain why she refused to pay, the woman responded this wasn’t his planet. The situation escalated further when the customer began making additional unverified claims. She alleged that Chinese people had made an “inner deal” with India and were smuggling things to Vietnam. In response, the receptionist said, “I’m not sure what you’re saying because I’m an American citizen so I have no knowledge of that,” pushing back against the comments during the exchange.
The employee then explained that a service had been provided and therefore payment was required. In response, the woman said she was from India and that’s why she should not be charged. The employee responded, “This is America,” but she doubled down, replying, “but the planet is India’s.”
Finally, the woman agreed to pay and took out her credit card. However, when the receptionist said he would process the payment, she asked, “Are you my boss?” She then returned to questioning him about China, asking what people do there and whether they work. The receptionist responded that he was American, and later clarified that he was Asian American. She then followed up by asking what “kind of Asian” he was.
The video reportedly ended with the worker reiterating that he was American and works in America. The woman then made another unclear remark about why he doesn’t share with White people. According to text overlaid on the video, she ultimately refused to pay and left the salon.
