We all know that politicians are prone to being mocked by people, but it seems that the one getting a lot of that lately is Trump, especially this week. For those who still don’t know, gas prices skyrocketed out of the blue. Since many believe the President is the main culprit, some people in Los Angeles, California, have taken matters into their own hands and started placing the famous “I Did That” stickers at several gas stations.
Reddit user Kathaar_ shared a picture on the Los Angeles subreddit of a gas station showing the current gas price, which is $5.779, at least in that place, and a sticker of Trump with the words “My Tariff Did That!“
This picture quickly went viral, as gas prices have been rising so fast that some people can’t afford gas like before. Furthermore, several people still feel a bit sour about the war the President started, which many consider one of the main issues behind the price increase.
Another shocking thing about the picture is that someone found gas below $6, which, according to some, is now rare in parts of California. According to the AAA, the state still had gas at $5.57 a month ago, so a 50-cent price hike in a month is extremely alarming.
Setting the somewhat “cheaper” gas price aside, people turned on Trump again and started blaming him for how expensive this vital resource is for many across the country.
California Drivers Angry at Trump Over Expensive Gas
Judging by the comments, many people in California are placing stickers at gas stations when they can, hoping to send a message.
“I place these at my local gas stations. If they get removed, it’s no biggie. I got the pack of 100.“
However, some went back to focus on Trump’s actions, claiming the war he started caused the price hike.
“His illegal war did this.“
“The sticker should mention the war, not the tariffs.”
Despite how expensive filling up a car is right now, some still hope prices will eventually come down. Yet, given how many states reported a sudden overnight increase, they don’t see that as likely. Some even believe gas will reach a new high soon, and based on these past months’ numbers, it is only a matter of time.
