A California man was shocked to find that he was robbed of his laptop in the night. Fortunately, he had access to an app to find out where his laptop is at any given time. He gave coordinates to police and an adventure ensued to bring his laptop back home where it rightfully belongs.

Daniel (@trillingstonn) says that somebody robbed him and took his laptop and AirPods. But according to Daniel, “They’re so stupid because I have Find My iPhone on and I just called the police.” He used the Find My iPhone app, which is Apple’s own built-in tracking service. The feature allows you to track the current location of your devices. By using this, he was able to track down the thief’s address and give it to police.

Daniel says, “I can’t believe someone went through my crap last night.” He meets up with his friend, stating that they “found him” and located his laptop. In the next scene, you can see a police car trailing Daniel and his friend, headed to the location. Police have their lights and sirens on and it’s a serious operation.

Finally, a tow truck is called to the scene to tow the vehicle in front of the thief’s house. They tracked the laptop down to the vehicle, so it’s clear that Daniel’s laptop and AirPods are inside the car. When the tow truck drives away, he watches in real time as his laptop shows movement on the app. He tells his audience, “They’re moving, so that means they’re in the car that’s being towed. We’re gonna get my stuff back!”

Commenters reacted to Daniel’s video, many happy for how the issue was resolved and sending positive thoughts his way. One commenter quipped, “I love how they towed the entire car.” Another stated, “Dang, I feel like this is rare that the cops cared enough to help. Very cool!”

Another shared their experience: “That’s insane! I had my phone stolen but police said they couldn’t do anything because find my iPhone is inaccurate and they didn’t want to bang on the wrong door.”

As Daniel’s video continues to gain traction, more people are sharing their own stories and weighing in on his experience. If nothing else, his situation appears to have struck a nerve with viewers who know what it’s like to find themselves in a similar position.
