Ideally, people should feel happy whenever a project that would help the population is started. However, it is also human nature to complain, and it is perfectly understandable, as some projects tend to affect those around them. Still, there are some that some cities desperately need, and complaining about them seems strange. In this case, we’re talking about the Metro E Line extension in Los Angeles, California. While many residents have been eagerly waiting for it, some citizens have started saying it is a bad idea. Naturally, those looking forward to this expansion have called those protesting about it annoying.
Many already know, but the Metro E Line in Los Angeles is finally getting an extension to Montebello. Now, this has been something that people have been waiting for a long time, and in the long run, it will benefit several commuters. However, not everyone can truly be happy, as some people have started seeing some “flaws” in the project and have started protesting about it.
Some citizens from East LA in California claim that this project will impact businesses, traffic, and many other things in the daily lives of those passing through where the extension will take place. While these concerns are well-founded, some people have had enough. Those supporting the construction, which is set to begin sometime in 2029, believe that it is now a bunch of residents who are trying to halt what could be an excellent addition to the Metro E Line.
California Redditors Call Out Protestors
Since many believe that this extension will bring nothing but benefits, they are now calling out the complainers. According to them, it is one thing to see authorities halt projects, but it is even stranger to see citizens protesting about something beneficial.
“As much as we talk about city and county government bringing progress to a halt, we also have to talk about how much locals just seem to hate the idea of anything ever slightly inconveniencing them for the greater good.“
Others are just fed up with all the complaining and just want to see this project happen.
“Build the extension already. Long overdue.“
“I can’t wrap my head around why people wouldn’t want this.“
Despite some people not wanting this extension to happen, it seems the majority are eager to see it. Sadly, we will have to wait a few years until it is up and running, but as many say, the wait will be worth it.
