Indiana Christian Woman Allegedly Harasses Shopper After Failing to Convert Her: ‘They’re So Delusional’

That’s unbelievable

A Christian woman in Indiana is facing backlash after a Burlington shopper accused her of trying to convert her.

The situation reportedly began when the woman approached the shopper in what appeared to be a normal interaction. The shopper later claimed that the woman attempted to convert her, and when she declined, the exchange escalated. According to the shopper, the woman told her that by walking away from Christianity, she had opened herself up to “demonic influence” and was on the “wrong side” of a spiritual battle.

Today I went to *Burlington* in Jeffersonville, IN and had what started as a kind, normal interaction with a stranger. It felt genuine at first… until it wasn’t. As the conversation went on, it became clear she was trying to convert me. When I politely said no and tried to end the interaction, it escalated. She told me that because I’ve walked away from Christianity, I’ve opened myself up to demonic influence and that I’m on the “wrong side” of a spiritual battle. Let me be clear — that is not love. That is not respect. That is not okay. You don’t get to override someone’s boundaries and call it care. You don’t get to project fear-based beliefs onto strangers and call it truth. This is exactly why so many people are stepping away. Not because they “hate God” — but because they’re tired of being talked at instead of respected as human beings. If your version of love requires control, fear, or assumption… it’s not love. Let people live. #bigotry #ReligiousTrauma #Deconstruction #athiest #exchristian P.S. If this is your sister in Christ you need to get her before she does this to someone less kind

Following the alleged interaction, the shopper began filming the woman as she remained in front of her. “Jesus love you. You are loved,” the woman could be heard saying. The shopper responded, “I’m telling you that the way you’re speaking to me is disrespecting me.” As she walked away to end the exchange, she added, “love doesn’t harass people,” and before leaving, called the woman a “bigot.”

After walking away from the woman, the shopper began speaking to the camera. She revealed that she had previously been a Christian for 33 years. “I completely understand why people don’t wanna live in a world with absolute psychos like that,” she said, referring to the woman.

The shopper then addressed Christians, saying, “If you are a Christian who is harassing people who are telling you that they don’t believe like you but you are so insistent to stick to your script out of fear, sit your [expletive] down. Let people live.” She also shared that she left the store following the experience.

The video is gaining attention because it shows a shopper alleging harassment over her personal beliefs during an interaction in a store. The situation sparked discussion online about religious boundaries and how attempts to convert others can sometimes be perceived as harassment. It also raised broader conversations about feeling unsafe from unwanted confrontations even in public shopping spaces.

Internet Reactions to the Indiana Shopper’s Video

The video sparked reactions online. Many people sympathized with the Indiana shopper and felt she did not deserve the experience. Others criticized the Christian woman for what she allegedly said during the interaction. “They’re so delusional it’s wild,” one person wrote. Another commented, “I bet too she ‘felt called’ to speak to you about God bc of your ‘alternative’ appearance. They often try to find some kind of ‘clue’ based on your appearance that ‘you might not know God.’ It’s so shallow & toxic. ‘Can I pray for you today?’ Um [expletive] I just didn’t wear makeup today, I promise you, I’m not tired looking because I don’t know God.”

More people also expressed sympathy toward the woman following her experience. “It’s crazy how many times I’ve had things like this happen. I’m sorry this happened to you too and I completely understand why you left the store. Sometimes these interactions are so vile or intrusive that one of the best things we can do for ourselves is leave the situation. You need to protect yourself,” one person wrote. Some Christians also responded to her video, with one saying, “as a Christian, I have never felt the urge to go up to someone and push my religion onto them. I’m sorry you got harrased while trying to just enjoy your shopping your trip.”

The incident in Indiana drew significant attention online and led many viewers to criticize the interaction that took place in the store.
