A California woman named Terry says she has been left without access to essential medical care after moving from Southern California to the northern part of the state. The woman, who lives with several chronic conditions, says she has struggled to afford the IV fluids she relies on to survive. Her appeal for help has drawn sympathy from social media users concerned about her access to treatment.
Terry shared her situation in a TikTok video posted to her account, sugarbunn10, explaining how her move disrupted the medical care she previously received. Her story prompted viewers to express support, with many leaving comments to increase the video’s visibility in hopes of connecting her with help.
Terry explained that she has severe gastroparesis, a condition that affects stomach function, along with POTS and neurological symptoms. She said she has been unable to tolerate solid food or water since early 2022 and has relied on IV hydration for nearly five years.
Before moving, Terry received regular IV fluids at home through a medical team in Southern California. However, after relocating to Northern California, she struggled to find providers offering insurance-covered hydration services. She explained that private mobile IV clinics have become a temporary option, but the expense is unsustainable, and repeated treatments have taken a toll on her veins.
“I’ve been left to die,” Terry said, describing her situation and pleading for help. She hopes to return to Southern California, where she believes more medical resources are available. However, she explained that she lacks the money, transportation, and support needed to make the trip.
Terry also called for better access to healthcare, stressing that she wants to live and needs stable housing alongside continued medical treatment.
California Woman’s Plea for Help Moves TikTok Commenters
Her video prompted an outpouring of sympathy, prayers, and supportive messages. Many commenters posted single dots to help the video reach a wider audience, while others encouraged people to engage with the post so her situation would receive more attention. “THIS IS WHY WE VOTE BLUE. WE NEED FREE HEALTHCARE,” one user wrote.
Other commenters expressed sadness over Terry’s circumstances and hoped she would receive the treatment she needs to manage her conditions. Some offered encouragement, urging her not to give up as she searches for support.
Although many responses consisted of brief messages, the comments reflected concern for Terry’s well-being. Viewers used the platform to express solidarity and draw attention to her request for help, hoping greater visibility might connect her with the support she needs.
For now, Terry’s story has left commenters rallying around a simple hope: that someone who sees her video can help her find a path back to the care she says she desperately needs.
