A woman in California found a note alerting her to a feline presence inside her car. After struggling to find the source of the endless meowing, the kitten was finally found. He stayed there for hours and, even after leaving, returned to his unconventional new home.
TikToker cynnrubyy (Cynn) shared the rare, albeit heartwarming, kitty encounter online. She often posts a variety of content, but the cat in question definitely took the spotlight. The video above went viral within days. It garnered 5.7 million views, 718,900 likes, and more than 1,700 comments.
The California woman started her video by showing a note that was left on her car. It read, “It sounds like there’s a cat in your engine!” followed by a sad face. Cynn, who is very fond of animals, decided to start looking for the cat, especially because she could hear meowing coming from her vehicle.
She called for the cat and looked for the kitty underneath her vehicle and around her engine bay. No feline friend was spotted, and Cynn even believed the sound was artificial, saying, “It sounds like a fake cat.”

Eventually, Cynn and her friend found the kitty. He was hiding inside her vehicle. More specifically, he was chilling and meowing from under the car’s bedding.
“They’re gonna have footage of us going down on the car,” Cynn’s friend told her as she was trying to catch his attention. Cynn responded, “I don’t care. I’ll leave my car here all night if I have to.”
The cat moved slightly, and even though Cynn tried to use some fries to “seduce” him, the kitten ended up spending four hours in her vehicle. In multiple follow-ups, Cynn described how the cat went in and out of her car at will, acting entitled to inhabit the vehicle, especially under the engine.

The video sparked many responses, mostly from viewers who found the cat adorable. One said, “I knew it was an orange cat before you even showed him.” Another one commented, “I’d get kidnapped like this.”
Some other viewers shared similar stories alongside photos of their cats. One wrote, “Found him in my wheel well. Anyway, he’s 5 now, living his best life.” Another one added, “This is actually how I found my kitten in some lady’s bumper of her car at a gas station.”
Sadly, Cynn shared in her latest update that the cat hasn’t returned after spending approximately a day in her car. It is unclear whether the kitty will return or not.
