California X Employee Claims DMs ‘Will Be Gone Soon’: ‘Useless Morons’

Now, Elon… what did we say about ruining good apps?

The drama surrounding Elon Musk extends to everything he is associated with. Criticism of Tesla, along with criticism of X, don’t paint Musk as the best person out there. Well, he allegedly plans to add another reason that will make people either hate him more or simply become upset by the inconvenience. A California X employee went on the social media platform and claimed that DMs will be removed soon. So Musk is basically taking the “social” part out of a “social media app.” As expected, people dragged Musk, this alleged decision, and the California X employee because why not?

An X/Twitter employee says that the entire DM system will be removed soon
by inFauxmoi

The news was shared in a screenshot on Reddit where the California X employee is replying to someone. He says (I’m assuming he was responding to a tweet with a screenshot of message requests), “This page will be deleted soon so no.” To which another X user replies by saying, “so no more message request?” The employee then reveals that DMs will be removed soon. “No not like request messages but like the whole entire DM’s will be gone soon,” he wrote.

People Reacting to the News

It’s safe to say that people had different reactions to this news, but most of them were mocking this decision. One person wrote, “I’m pretty sure they’re just gonna repackage it tbh, useless morons doing busy work and pretending to be revolutionizing s**t.” Another person mocked how X is sometimes called the everything app. “Some Things App,’” he called it. It might actually be a good name, especially if the California X employee was telling the truth. One Redditor replied to this comment with something that actually made me laugh. Apparently, Elon is now Lemon. “Lemon is taking everything that made Twitter unique and just… ruining it.” Now, this is an insult to lemon.

Some applauded Musk and his employees’, including the California X employee, ability to make things worse. “It’s amazing how they can just keep making a platform worse. I thought they reached the bottom a *long* time ago.” Some pointed out that Musk was removing DMs because he was caught flirting with a woman through her DMs. “Imagine having so little self control that you decide to nuke the entirety of the twitter DM system because you’re embarrassed that you couldn’t keep your grubby desperate a** out of women’s DMs and your best pickup line was to literally beg to impregnate them.” Yikes. No matter what is the reason behind this decision, we are probably witnessing the slow downfall of X. Thankfully, I don’t depend that much on X.
