The Call of Duty Vanguard Open Beta is fast approaching its second weekend since its beta announcement, and here is everything you need to know about it, including start times, content, platforms, rewards for playing, and more.
There are big plans for Call of Duty this weekend, with the second weekend of the beta starting on the 16th, running until September 20. The good news is that this weekend is open access for PlayStation players, with those players having already had their closed beta last weekend.
How to Download the Beta and Download Size

Call of Duty Vanguard Beta Content
Just like the first weekend, a large number of maps will be available for players to sink their teeth, as well as a great opportunity for Sledgehammer Games to collect backend data on these. Many modes are also included, such as Patrol, a new mode as a spin on the classic mode Hardpoint, which has a moving objective instead of static locations.
Maps Available:
- Champion Hill
- Hotel Royal
- Gavutu
- Red Star
- Eagle’s Nest
Modes Available:
- Champion Hill (Solos, Duos, Trios)
- Team Deathmatch
- Domination
- Kill Confirmed
- Patrol
- Search and Destroy
For the beta gameplay itself, there is a fair amount of content to grind in the second weekend. There will be rotating weapons sets, with two from each category, and the ability to level up your weapons to level 30, and use all the attachments unlocked up to that level.
Combat pacing will again be included much like the first weekend, which lets players select how intense they want their games, based around player counts, which vary throughout all three pacing systems.
- Tactical. This pacing system is the one Call of Duty players are most familiar with, traditional 6v6 Call of Duty combat. Tactical mode will always be 6v6, and not vary.
- Balanced. This pacing gives you quite a few more enemies to kill, but still allows some breathing room for players in the combat. This pacing varies between 20-28 players
- Blitz. These are the high intensity, chaotic lobbies where there are high numbers of enemies to fight, and players need to prepare for grand-scale combat. These lobbies have player counts from 28-48 players.
Rewards
There are also rewards for players who participate in the beta, with beta progression for the Season 5 battle pass for Cold War and Warzone being enabled, and also a blueprint reward for Vanguard for players who reach level 20.
