Call Of Duty’s battle royale game, Warzone, has been set for release in March. After weeks of speculation, what is perhaps the worst-kept secret in gaming right now, the collaboration between Infinity Ward and Raven is finally coming. There was hope for a release within days; however, VGC says the mode is “at least a few weeks away.”

As a result, an early March release seems more likely. In the build-up to the news, there have been multiple leaks and hints towards Warzone’s arrival. Direct gameplay leaked by TheGamingRevolutionYT appeared online recently. However, the footage of the battle royale mode has since been removed on the grounds of a copyright claim by Activision.

Perhaps there was something they didn’t want us to discover too soon.

So, on top of the gameplay, there was an audio file which appears to contain Captain Price’s voice, as well as a screenshot. A cinematic cut scene from the Season 2 trailer seems to hint toward Warzone too.

Moreover, Warzone is due to be released as a standalone game for free, but there is also an option for players to purchase an ‘upgrade’ to the full version of Modern Warfare. Plus, it’s likely Warzone will share unified progression with Modern Warfare’s current Battle Pass. Cosmetic unlocks are also expected in the battle royale mode.

Upon release, Warzone will unlock for all Modern Warfare players via a grey menu item.

Recently, a patch update alerted players with an error message. The message told gamers that their data was “corrupt or didn’t download properly.” As a result, they’d need to reset their rank and unlocks to fix the issue.

Infinity Ward urgently asked players to save the game hard and select neither option. Unfortunately, some players had already done so. In a tweet, Infinity Ward further informed users they were investigating the issue.
