There are several characters you can romance in the game, potentially even marrying them. Unfortunately, only a limited number of your traveling companions can be engaged in a romantic relationship: Andreja, Barrett, Sam Coe, and Sarah Morgan. Each one of the potential partners has an invisible affinity bar that you can fill by flirting with them and taking them with you on missions. Once your affinity is high enough, you can fully commit and marry them. Here’s what you need to know about whether you can romance multiple characters in Starfield.

You can flirt with multiple characters concurrently, no matter your avatar’s gender in Starfield. However, your potential romantic partners may not like you flirting with multiple people at the same time, possibly souring your relationship with them. It’s best to avoid being a serial flirter and focus on romancing one character at a time.

Once you’ve committed to a relationship, you aren’t allowed to have another romantic partnership. Commitment is you agreeing to be the significant other for a specific character. You can move your relationship to the next level by maxing your affinity and accepting a marriage quest. Like with commitment, once you’re married, you aren’t allowed to be in another romantic relationship. Your married partner will sleep with you in bed.

While you can’t have multiple relationships concurrently in Starfield, you can still end your commitment or marriage with your current romantic partner and move on to another. You can end a romantic commitment or marriage by talking to your partner and first selecting the response to question their feelings about your relationship. From there, you can have a conversation with your partner and choose to end the relationship.

For example, you can marry Sarah Morgans in Starfield early on. But you can then change your mind and decide to have a conversation with her to end the relationship. You then divorce her and romance Andreja in Starfield. You can end up romancing all the possible romantic partners in the game if you want to.
