Caught on Camera: Idiotic Georgia Woman Attempts to Steal From Her Hairstylist Seconds After She Leaves the Room, ‘Immediately Going Into Thief Mode’

The camera was RIGHT there

Some criminals are calculated. Others are anything but. A woman in Georgia appears to fall firmly into the latter category after attempting to steal from her own hairstylist and getting caught on camera in the process. The incident was captured during what was supposed to be a routine appointment. The hairstylist had been filming the session for social media content and later shared the clip with the caption: “Watch my client try to steal from me.” In the footage, the stylist steps out briefly to retrieve scissors, mentioning she may need to unlock the door afterward.

That short window was apparently all the opportunity the client needed. She didn’t hesitate. Instead, she moved quickly, turning what might have been a quiet theft into a viral misstep. Now, rather than walking away with anything of value, she’s become the subject of widespread online criticism, with the video circulating across platforms.

Imagine trying to steal on camera, I can’t believe this really happened to me I’ve never been through anything like this. My client tried to steal from me when I walked out for 2 mins. The moment the stylist stepped out and shut the door, the client began scanning the room for something to grab. At one point, she looked directly toward the camera, then quickly looked away. That brief glance sparked skepticism online, with some viewers questioning the clip’s authenticity. How could she not notice she was being filmed?

The stylist addressed that in the comments, writing, “I was using my back camera she couldn’t tell if I was recording and I kept saying how I didn’t have a lot of storage. Also the phone was sitting there the whole appointment so she could have easily forgot. Regardless of why she did it or what’s was going on in her mind at the time it’s clear in the video what’s going on can’t hide that.”

Based on the footage, it does appear the client wasn’t aware she was on camera.

Still seated, the woman continued surveying the space before eventually standing and moving toward the styling station. She seemed to check the walls, possibly looking for security cameras, before edging closer to a nearby table. That’s when she reached toward the stylist’s bag, slipping one hand inside while repeatedly glancing around to see if anyone was returning. She didn’t get far. Opening the bag fully would have required both hands — and more time than she had.

The failed attempt didn’t end there. She then walked to another area of the room, partially out of frame. From what’s visible, she didn’t leave with anything. Moments later, she returned to her chair and sat down as if nothing had happened.

Now, the footage has spread widely online. In the caption, the stylist expressed disbelief over the incident and offered a warning to others in the industry: “Stylists be safe out here make sure you have your stuff secured and out the way not everyone can be trusted.”

People Reacting to the Georgia Woman Trying to Steal

A lot of people couldn’t believe how the Georgia woman tried to steal anything the moment the hairstylist left the room. This is why one person wrote, “Omg her immediately going into thief mode.” Another person then replied, “Eyes went straight to scanning.” Others commented on how the woman didn’t even have a target in mind as someone wrote, “She looking around like she just gotta take something.” One TikTok user then said, “some ppl do… just can’t help themselves even if it’s nothing they really want, they just have to take it & it’s sad.” One woman also commented on what the client should have actually done. “This is when she was supposed to be looking at her hair,” she said.

The woman’s lack of hesitation stood out to viewers. One commenter asked in disbelief, “People not scared to steal?????????” The stylist responded candidly: “It’s like yes and no lmao, because she wasn’t scared to try something, but once she realized she might be caught she stopped.”

If there’s any silver lining, that may be it; she stopped before anything was actually taken.

Others speculated about what might have motivated the behavior. One person suggested, “Some people really be suffering from Kleptomania . Can’t go no where with your hand itching and scratching.” If that were the case, it would point to a deeper issue rather than a split-second decision.

Regardless of the reasoning, the outcome is what ultimately matters. The stylist didn’t lose any of her belongings, and the only thing the client walked away with was unwanted attention online.
