The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077 are the greatest franchises of CD Projekt. Especially with The Witcher, the company showed itself to the world. Their latest game Cyberpunk 2077, had a terrible launch, but it’s also on the trends these days, thanks to the Edgerunners update released in the last weeks. We’ve been expecting the fourth The Witcher game, but the company announced two more games. The first announcement was a sequel for Cyberpunk 2077, and the second one is the topic of this news. CD Projekt is working on an entirely new game IP; the code name is Hadar.

Cyberpunk 2077 started getting good reviews, and the game’s bugs and performance problems are fixed now. It looks like the studio wants to brave new things. Although The Witcher 4 is in early development, they started working on two more.

The only known information is the project’s code name. The development project hasn’t started; they’re on one of the first creative processes to decide what we will see in the game. Hadar isn’t the game’s final name, and even the employees likely don’t know the final release’s name. While The Witcher 4 is in early development, we can’t expect Hadar to be in the same process of development. Probably the team will be more focused on Hadar after The Witcher 4‘s active development start.

The studio plans to release those three projects in six years. CD Projekt must learn some lessons from Cyberpunk 2077, the hype was too high for the game, and the same things might happen again. Fans should keep their expectations low, as always. We will probably hear more details in a few months. Hadar might be the late game that is expected to be released in that six-year period.

Which upcoming title makes you most excited?
