By now, many have heard of the story of the Chicago, Illinois, woman stuck in Dubai. As you know, many US citizens got stuck on the other side of the pond when the Iran war broke out, leaving several stranded and with no idea of what to do. Out of the countless stories we’ve seen, this one caught the attention of many people and several media outlets, but after a long wait and uncertainty, the woman who was trapped in Dubai has finally returned home, and people are celebrating.
In case you don’t know what we’re talking about, a couple of days ago, TikTok user Shekin_h from Chicago shared a video saying she was stuck in Dubai at a parking shelter. She mentioned how she saw the missiles and heard the explosion, and how the situation was really bad, while also saying, “Trump, thanks for nothing.” Saying how she was not even in America, and was still affected by the President’s foolishness.
After her initial video, she shared another one in which you can hear an answering machine saying that US citizens shouldn’t rely on the government for assisted departure, that there were no evacuation points, and that the only option was to “stay sheltered.”
Fortunately, this story had a positive outcome: the woman posted an update not long ago, this time from the safety of her home. While she talked about how thankful she was to be home, she also mentioned how scary the situation was, especially since she was flooded with bad news that made the whole thing even worse for those stranded in Dubai.
At the end of the video, she mentions how she’ll tell the whole story, especially since finding a flight back home wasn’t easy, and how, when the flight came, it wasn’t for everyone, according to her. So far, people have flooded her videos with positive comments, with most elated to see this TikToker back on US soil.
“Girl, we were praying hard for you!” – CountryGal via TikTok.
“So very happy you made it home safely!” – Marie via TikTok.
While this is certainly a fortunate situation for this woman, there are still people stuck there, and the war isn’t showing signs of stopping. Things could very well escalate in the following days, so all we can do is hope that the government actually helps its people this time so they can find their way back home.
