It is nothing new that HoYoverse is in the middle of some controversy. It is often due to its fight against leakers, but the most common is because of the anniversary rewards of one of its games. We are referring to the “3 Wishes Drama” or “3 Intertwined Fates Incident,” in which fans of Genshin Impact have been in charge of creating a whole smear campaign. The disgruntled players started unsubscribing from social networks, writing bad reviews, and creating content regarding this issue. But one Genshin Impact player from China has revealed a truth that players in the rest of the world ignore.
Chinese Genshin Player Urges the International Community Not to Participate in Smear Campaign
This is all an old drama; many fans of the game express dissatisfaction with whatever HoYoverse gives as anniversary rewards in Genshin Impact, but the third anniversary already happened a few months ago. But the fire ignited when, at The Game Awards 2023, Honkai Star Rail won as the best mobile game, and HoYoverse announced a 5-star character for the game’s users. Genshin players complained for reasons such as Honkai Star Rail rewards better than Genshin Impact, even though it is a more recent game. The biggest uproar of this whole “3 wishes incident” comes from the gaming community in China, but one player in China knows the truth.
A player under the Reddit username keqingloveforever is against this smear campaign, and some people are just taking advantage of the incident to tarnish the name of Genshin Impact. Also, this individual reports that some groups have been trying to do so for some time now. These trolls seek to change the general public’s opinion of the game by accusing it of having a problem with the ideologies and politics of the country. Also, these people take every opportunity to complain and even report people who play the game to the Chinese government. This smear and terror campaign seeks to kill Genshin Impact regardless of the method to achieve it. This group of trolls is taking advantage of the fact that the rest of the world does not know what is going on in China.
