Two former Marvel movie stars are set to reunite once again for a movie produced by Apple. According to a report from Deadline, Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson will star in the movie Project Artemis. Joining the two former superheroes will be actor Jason Bateman. However, for this project, Bateman will serve as the film’s director and one of its executive producers.
Details on Project Artemis are few and far between. However, according to Deadline, the film will likely concern the space race. The screenplay for Project Artemis comes from Rose Gilroy, the daughter of writer and director Dan Gilroy and actress Rene Russo.
Currently, there is an international spaceflight program headed by NASA called the Artemis Program. This program seeks to return humans to the moon. It began in 2017 and is currently ongoing. However, it is unknown whether or not this real-life space program has anything to do with the events of the Project Artemis movie.
Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, and Project Artemis
If everything works out, Project Artemis will be the first time Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson have reunited on-screen since their days as Avengers. The duo was initially going to team up for another Apple project titled Ghosted. However, due to scheduling issues, Johansson was unable to commit, which opened up the role to another one of Evans’ former co-stars, Ana De Armas.
Although he is primarily known as a comedic actor, Jason Bateman is so much more. He has several directing credits for movies and television; this includes episodes of the hit Netflix series Ozark, which he also leads as an actor. However, Bateman has also directed an episode of Family Matters, Arrested Development, and two episodes of The Outsider. His movie experience includes directing Bad Words, The Family Fang, and the upcoming Here Comes the Flood.
