Christina Milian makes a case for Blue Ivy’s metallic outfit at the Mufasa red carpet premiere as Jay Z‘s rape allegation keeps blowing up. The 12-year-old, who is the oldest daughter of hip-hop royalties Beyonce and Jay-Z stepped out on Monday night to attend the premiere of the Disney animated film, Mufasa: Lion King, alongside her famous parents. Blue, who makes her feature film debut as the voice of Kiara in the film made her red carpet appearance in a metallic Christian Siriano strapless ballgown and full glam makeup. While the barely recognizable teenager looked glamorous in the outfit, several netizens had unpleasant things to say about her dress.
The youngster has since faced backlash for the supposedly “inappropriate” dress, becoming the unwilling recipient of the spitball from Jay-Z’s ongoing sexual abuse scandal. Amid the criticism over her outfit choice, some have stepped up in her defense, pointing out that the budding actress deserved her moment regardless of public opinion of her or her parents. Most notably, singer, Christina Milian, who once hosted Disney Channel’s Movie Surfers and performed the theme song Call Me, Beep Me! for the Disney animated series Kim Possible, spoke up for Jay-Z’s daughter Blue Ivy.
Christina Milian Defends Blue Ivy’s Red Carpet Moment Amid Jay-Z’s Rape Allegation
While making an appearance on Sherri Shepherd’s show, Sherri, the host quizzed Christina about her thoughts on the 12-year-old’s outfit. The Disney star quickly jumped to Blue’s defense, pointing out the budding star looked gorgeous. She then went on a rant slamming anyone who had something to say about the minor’s appearance. She fired,
“I think the fact that anybody has anything to say about someone else’s daughter, any minor, I think just mind your business. She’s talented, she toured the world with her mom, like there’s nothing you can say. You can’t dim that shine.”
The host, Sherri, also stood on ‘team Carter,’ acknowledging that Blue Ivy’s outfit was not inappropriate and that the preteen looked “so poised.” In response, Christina Milian chipped in a plea to those looking to thrash Blue Ivy after her red carpet moment, urging them to “let that baby glow!”
This comes amid Blue Ivy’s dad Jay-Z’s recent entanglement in the Diddy sexual abuse scandal. The hip hop mogul has faced scrutiny since an alleged “victim” filed a civil lawsuit against him, accusing him of raping her at 13 alongside disgraced rapper Sean Diddy Combs. The said sexual abuse of a minor allegedly happened back in 2000 following their attendance at the MTV VMAs. Jay-Z has since denied the allegations, tagging it “a blackmail attempt” aimed to extort him in a public statement shared on X.
Reiterating his innocence, the mogul challenged the victim to file a criminal complaint, against the said perpetrator as the allegations “are so heinous in nature” to simply settle it over a civil lawsuit. Despite maintaining his innocence, the hip-hop legend has continued to face online scrutiny, with the divided opinions of netizens spilling over to his family, and almost costing Blue Ivy Carter her red-carpet moment.
