Sid Meier’s Civilization series turns 32 years old today, and to celebrate, Civilization 6 has made a brand new announcement. The franchise has been around since 1991 and has become a staple of strategy games over the years. Now with so many entries under its belts, Civilization 6 provides us with loads of content through the Leader Pass. Now, Civ 6 has announced that it is bringing this Leader Pass to consoles.

Sid Meier’s Civilization is a series of turn-based strategy games that place players in charge of an empire. In Civ 6 and other Civilization games, players choose one of many different leaders, with even more added through the leader pass, throughout history, and compete with others to make the greatest nation. In this series, researching different fields, settling new cities, and raising armies to defend yourself are all important aspects of success. Players can win in a multitude of ways, including conquest and technological advancement. Over the years, there have been six main-line Civ games, with tons of spin-offs and other content. Overall, the series is one of the biggest strategy games out there.
Civ 6 Offers Leader Pass To Consoles In Anniversary Trailer
During the Civilization anniversary trailer, the narrator details a few of the game’s highlights and thanks the players for their commitment. After, the game discusses the Leader Pass, which acts as a form of DLC and adds 12 new leaders and 6 personas to the PC version of the game. However, now the Leader Pass will come to PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch releases of Civ 6 as well. Additionally, players who purchase Civ 6: Anthology will receive the pass at no additional cost. Otherwise, players can purchase the pass separately. Finally, the trailer ends by offering console players the leader, Julius Caesar, for free if they link their 2K account.
