Activision and Treyarch have revealed details for the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Beta. This time around, fans will be able to get their hands on not just one, but two Betas before the game launches in October.
The first Beta will give players access to the Private Multiplayer Beta which will be available across all platforms. PlayStation 4 will have first entry into the Private Beta from August 3rd to the 6th. Xbox One will have access from the 10th to the 13th. PC players will have access to a Call of Duty Beta through Battle.net from the 10th to the 11th. Rounding it out, the open beta, available to everyone, will be available from the 11th to the 13th.
In the Multiplayer Beta, players will have access to a wide variety of maps and modes. The beta will include six maps and five modes including Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint and the brand new Control mode.
Additionally, a second beta was announced alongside the Private Multiplayer Beta. The Blackout Beta, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s take on Battle Royal, will be getting its own Beta in September. No date has been issued as fans eagerly await more details. It is yet to be seen on how Blackout will compete with the massive Fortnite: Battle Royal mode. Treyarchs Co-Studio Head had this to say about having multiple Betas:
This is an exciting opportunity for us at Treyarch because not only are we putting more content into players’ hands earlier than ever before, we get to break new ground by hosting two separate Beta experiences. Games are better when they’re a result of a dialogue with our community. Not only does it improve the game’s quality, but it allows us to respond to player feedback and custom-craft the experience to how players engage most with the game.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 4th 2018.
