Season 5 of Fortnite: Battle Royal kicked off Thursday morning with a myriad of new changes. Fans will immediately notice the drastic changes to the map. For the first time ever Fornite has added a new biome, a desert, located on the south-east corner of the map. Players will notice two new named locations in Paradise Palms located in the desert and Lazy Links replacing Anarchy Acers.

Additional, an all-new vehicle named the All Terrain Kart has been added to Fortnite. The vehicle fits in with the new golf course location as it is a simple golf cart. The All Terrain Kart will support up to four players. This comes after multiple issues and removals of the previous vehicles, the shopping carts.

Additionally, players who are willing to dish out cash for the Fortnite Battle Pass can look forward to a plethora of new rewards. There isn’t a central theme this time around like with previous battle passes. Instead Epic has opted for a more scattered approach. You can expect a wide array of new skins, emotes, gliders and spray paints in the 100 tiers leading up to the ultimate Ragnarok costume.

Furthermore, Epic has tweaked how shotguns will work. Shotguns will now show how many pellets make contact as you shoot. You can now no longer switch from your shotgun for a short period of time to prevent from the infamous double pump strategy.

A small tweak to the end game has also been implemented. Instead of the circle moving in slowly, the circle will shift throughout the final circle. This change has likely been made to make for a more exciting and dynamic end game.

Season 5 has just begun and there is sure to be many surprises and secrets left to uncover. Season 5 of Fortnite: Battle Royal of will run for 90 days.
