Remedy has announced an update in its half-year financial report for 2024 that says that the studio’s upcoming projects, Max Payne 1 Remake and Max Payne 2 Remake have entered full development, while Control 2 is now in a playable state. As for Project Condor, it is still making developmental strides like before.
Control 2 is said to be entering the “production readiness stage,” and many major features have been showcased in playable form. At the same time, the Max Payne 1 & 2 Remakes have progressed to the full production stage from production readiness. The aim is to soon make the games playable from beginning to end while retaining the “key differentiating gameplay features.”
As for Project Condor, it has also reached full production as well. This means that multiple maps and different gameplay modes are ready and being playtested internally, with some external testing. This is being done to make sure which features should be kept while getting some feedback.
Around a year ago, Control 2 was in the “proof-of-concept stage” and Remedy had big plans for it as well as the Max Payne 1 & 2 remakes. But the remakes were still in a state where the scope and scale weren’t finalized. Remedy did confirm back then that the budget for the two remakes was similar to Alan Wake 2, which means they’re definitely a priority.

Alan Wake 2 Best Words of PowerThis is by no means a confirmation that these games will be ready anytime soon. With no reveal even confirmed, so far it seems most of these games are likely years away. Control 2 is likely the closest to actually coming out, and even that is likely to come out well in 2025. And since the Max Payne 1 & 2 Remakes are being done simultaneously with the budget of Alan Wake 2, they are likely going to take a long time as well.
