Earlier this year, we reviewed Corsair’s iCUE LS100 Smart Lighting Kit and Expansion Kit which can be attached to your desktop monitor and light up your area with customized lighting.
Corsair has a number of options available for smart lighting and we are now going to take a look at the iCUE LT100 Smart Lighting Tower.

The casing has built-in light diffusion which softens and blends the light with a nice effect.
The starter kit has two bases with the main base including a port for the power supply, as well as the RGB connector port and the micro USB port. Additionally, it also has a control button uses when selecting one of the 11 preset profiles.
The second base only has an RBG connector on the back which is the same as the expansion kit base.
One design aspect that I found to be just okay is the removable headset holder. This holder is made of plastic and does the job but it is not as sturdy as I would prefer.
Challenges may come into play if your headset is not a size that works for the holder. For the most part, it is a nice idea and functional for what it was meant to do.
The iCUE LT100 towers each come with 46 customizable LEDs. You can integrate the lighting with your games, music or other media. It can match the sound of whatever is on your screen and literally turn your room into a visualizer.
You can set the towers where they are out in the open for more vivid lighting or turn them around for more subtle lighting of your area.
Customization and the iCUE software:
As with many of the Corsair components, customization is available using the iCUE software. All of these things can communicate with each other in many ways.
You can set static colors (all the same or different for each tower) or you can set up other synchronized or flash lighting.
There are 11 preset lighting profiles if you just want something simple and easy. This can be controlled by a push of a button.
With the starter pack and the expansion kits, you have the ability to expand up to 4 towers. To set up 4 towers you would need to purchase the starter kit and 2 expansion kits.
The price of the starter kit alone is not too expensive. If you think about expanding, it could cost you a little more. It all depends on how much lighting you want and how much you want to spend on it.
If you are looking for illumination and ambient lighting for your computer desk area, the iCUE LT100 Smart lighting is a good choice for many reasons. You can customize it to your liking and it’s just really cool.
Some of the things to consider would be the fact that it will take up space on your desk as it comes in towers and not something you can attach to your computer monitor.
Overall, these lights are a great addition to the many other lighting options provided by Corsair.
