Deciding on the best faction in Starfield is tricky, as every group has unique benefits and exclusive rewards. You will meet various characters who invite you to their coalitions. The Constellation faction is from the main questline, but there are other optional factions you can join for better rewards. One of these options is being a space pirate as a Crimson Fleet member in Starfield, which we believe is the best faction in the game.
Be A Pirate or Be Hunted By Pirates Forever
While progressing through Starfield‘s story, you’ll eventually complete a mission called the “Deep Cover.” This mission involves one of the most important decisions in Starfield: join the Crimson Fleet or stay with the UC SysDef squad to kill the leaders of the pirates. In this case, betraying the “good guys” and siding with the pirates is much more worthwhile.
One of the reasons that the Crimson Fleet is the best faction in Starfield is their strong sense of loyalty. This means that if you betray the pirates, you will never be able to join the Crimson Fleet again. But if you choose to kill the UC soldiers, you’ll be able to stay with the Fleet and enjoy their missions while also able to operate for other factions as well.
When you meet the characters in the Crimson Fleet, the notable NPCs have personalities that will perfectly match what you’d expect of a faction like theirs. These pirates aren’t simple rebels and don’t have a tragic background to make them fight against a destined enemy. The coalition is made up of coldblooded egocentric characters like Delgado and Adler, who, as marauders, use others, including you, to reach their goals. These characters settle their problems with bloodshed, no matter the target. The Rook Meets King is a prime example of this pirate behavior.
Starfield Pirates Offer More Action-Packed Quests
One very important thing about the space pirates in Starfield is their quests. During its questline, Delgado, the leader of the space pirates, is seeking a treasure, and you have to help him. A mix of exciting dog fights, treasure hunts, and intense combat sequences is what awaits you as a Crimson Fleet member.
The Crimson Fleet missions like “The Best There Is” are way more exciting than boring talks with several NPCs without end. Most importantly, completing tasks for the pirates comes with good rewards, such as thousands of credits or rare weapons like the Unfair Advantage, exclusive to Fleet members.
You Can Access The Key With The Fleet
In Starfield, the pirates have built their base on a planet called the Suvorov of the Kryx solar system. It’s where you can speak with the leaders of the Crimson Fleet and trade items. However, there’s a space station near this planet where you can sell contraband packages. While the Crimson Fleet’s base is a former prison called The Lock on planet Suvorov, their space station is known as The Key.
Here, you can trade weapons and items for credits or sell your contraband packages for a good amount of money. However, the good thing about this location is that you won’t be scanned for contraband, as it is a pirate-run solar system. This is a huge benefit that only comes when you’re a Crimson Fleet member and one of the best reasons that this is the best faction in Starfield.
