Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna attacked Texas Senate candidate James Talarico during a media appearance about the race. She accused him of having a “weird fixation” on kindergartners and questioned whether he should be around children. Luna also argued that Talarico should not serve in the Senate.

In the clip, Luna responded after a host played material about Talarico. She said the content reinforced concerns she already had about him.

Luna then tied her criticism to Talarico’s position on medical care involving minors. She accused him of supporting efforts to “pump your kids full of hormones and chop off body parts.”

Speaking as a mother, she argued parents should oppose those positions. “I don’t think that he needs to be around kids,” Luna said. She added, “I definitely don’t think he needs to be in the Senate.”

The remarks then broadened into a political attack. Luna called Talarico and those aligned with him “radical” before the provided clip ended.

Anna Paulina Luna’s James Talarico Remarks Draw Defamation Backlash

The reaction focused on Luna’s allegation, Talarico’s teaching background and whether the attack had any factual basis.

“She should be sued for defamation what a disgusting thing to suggest,” one user wrote.

Another pointed directly to Talarico’s past work: “The dude taught middle school for crying out loud! These people are desperate.”

Others turned their criticism toward how the accusation was aired. “I remember a time when a TV show had a host that would cutoff someone saying something like this with no facts behind it,” one response stated.

A separate user framed the remarks as a campaign attack rather than a substantive argument. “They got nothing of substance to run against Talarico. It’s really bad.”

Luna offered no supporting evidence for the accusation in the provided clip. Talarico’s response was not included.
