As a unique addition to Pokémon Sword and Shield, the Three Swords of Justice make an appearance in the Crown Tundra DLC. The three Pokémon (Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion) will be available to catch for DLC players. In the Crown Tundra, the whole theme is exploration. In this guide, we will explore how you need to find and catch the Three Swords of Justice Pokémon.
It all begins once you meet Professor Sonia in Crown Tundra’s town of Freezington. She directs you to follow the footprints of three mythical Pokémon around the Crown Tundra. The research for these prints needs to go up to 100% to unlock the mythical Pokémon. Each footprint you find will unlock 2% of the goal. With that in mind, you’ll need to hunt 50 footprints to get the Pokemon. A word of advice, save your game in front of each Pokémon (if you make the Pokémon faint you lose your chance of catching it.)
Crown Tundra – The Iron Will Pokémon
The first Pokémon is Cobalion, the Iron Will. These Cobalion footprints are easier than the others. They will be glowing blue around different locations. To find the footprints for Cobalion, you need to start looking in the following locations across Crown Tundra:
- Frigid Sea
- Three-Point Pass
- Roaring-Sea Caves
After collecting all 100% of the footprints, Sonia will let you know Cobalion has appeared in the Frigid Sea. From there, head to the small island located in the Frigid Sea. That’s where you’ll find the Iron Will Pokémon.
The Cavern Pokémon
The second Pokémon is Terrakion, the Cavern Pokémon. Being the Cavern Pokémon, you won’t be surprised to find their footprints in these two locations:
- Lakeside Cave
- Ballimere Lake
These Terrakion footprints will have a brown hue, which can easily be seen in the green grass. Just make sure to not mistake them for rocks in the scenery. After completing 100% of the footprints, Sonia will let you know Terrakion has appeared in the Lakeside Cave. On the far side of the cavern is where you will find Terrakion.
The Grassland Pokémon
The third Pokémon is Virizion, the Grassland Pokémon. Virizion footprints may be the hardest to search for in the grasslands. The Virizion footprints can be found in any of the following locations across Crown Tundra:
- Frostpoint Field
- Old Cemetery
- Giant’s Bed
The footprints are bright green, which can easily blend in with the grass around the area. These Pokémon footprints seem to follow the path. Follow the footprints the best you can to obtain 100%. Sonia will let you know, after completion, that Virizion has appeared in the Giant’s Bed. Between two trees on a hill is where you will find Virizion.
After catching all the Swords of Justice Pokémon, you will have one more task to complete in the Crown Tundra DLC. With Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion, you will now have a chance to catch Keldeo. You can find how to catch him with our guide. What did you think of hunting down footprints? Was it easy to find them all? Which of the three did you struggle with the most?
