Crunchyroll has now announced and opened the voting for its seventh Anime Awards. The leading nomination is Spy x Family, with 13 nominations in all different categories. The next highest nomination is Attack on Titan, with 12 categories (the fall 2022 season will not be available for this year’s awards and will instead be a part of the 2024 awards). All anime of the Fall 2022 season will not be eligible for this year’s awards. They will instead be a part o the 2024 anime awards.

This year’s anime awards have gotten rid of the categories of “Best Boy,” “Best Girl,” and “Best Antagonist.” Instead, the categories are now labeled as “Best Main Character” and “Best Supporting Character.” Crunchyroll has also gotten rid of the “Best Fight Scene” category in exchange for “Best Anime Song,” “Best Continuing Series,” “Best New Series,” and “Best Original Anime.” The awards also add best voice actor categories for series dubbed in Arabic, Castilian, and Italian. These also include the existing Japanese, English, French, German, Portuguese, and Russian options.
Voting is open until January 25th at 5 p.m. PST. The winners will be announced during a presentation in Japan on March 4th.
