Damon Wayans Jr. is raiding the cage in his newest game show on CBS. Known for his appearances on Poppa’s House, Wayans Jr. will be co-hosting CBS’ newest game show, Raid the Cage, alongside Jeannie Mai Jenkins, a former Miss Universe host. Raid the Cage, which was first announced in June, takes inspiration from an Israeli game show that pits two teams of contestants against each other as they race to snag high-value prizes before the timer runs out. The series is scheduled to premiere in October, with Wayans Jr. and Jenkins attached.
Damon Wayans Jr. and Jeannie Mai Jenkins Will Co-Host ‘Raid the Cage’
CBS’ Raid the Cage was first announced in June 2023. The game show, borrowing from an Israeli game show of the same name, will feature two teams of contestants who are racing against the clock to grab high-value prizes from a central cage before their time is up and the doors shut. Both teams will be faced with a series of quiz questions, and answering questions correctly awards contestants more time to grab prizes. After three rounds, the team that was able to snag the most valuable prizes wins and moves on to the final round with bigger and better prizes at stake, including a car.
Prior to hosting Raid the Cage, Damon Wayans Jr. has held several acting roles, both as a voice actor and on-camera, in TV shows such as Bob’s Burgers, The Twilight Zone, and New Girl, where he starred as Coach between 2011 and 2018. Aside from hosting Raid the Cage, one of Wayans Jr.’s other upcoming projects is Poppa’s House, an upcoming CBS series that will follow a radio talk show host coming to terms with his new, female co-host while also struggling to parent his adult son, who is himself trying to be a good father. The series will star Damon Wayans Jr. alongside his real-life father, Damon Wayans Sr., along with Tetona Jackson and Essence Atkins.
Damon Wayans Jr.’s co-host, Jeannie Mai Jenkins, is best known as the host of Miss Universe 2022, America’s Test Kitchen: The Next Generation (2022), and Holey Moley (2019). Aside from her hosting positions, Jenkins has also made guest appearances on The Kelly Clarkson Show, The Talk, and The View, among others.
Raid the Cage, co-hosted by Damon Wayans Jr. and Jennie Mai Jenkins, is set to premiere on October 13th, 2022, on CBS.
