The return of a bygone era of Marvel may be close at hand. Years ago, we received a handful of Netflix Marvel shows. Though some performed better than others, it created a small universe around Marvel’s Defenders. We thought we’d seen the end of it after a mass cancellation. However, that no longer seems to be the case. We’ve already received word that headliner Daredevil will return to the MCU. Furthermore, a couple of weeks ago, the Defenders universe was added to Disney+. Thanks to some information from the upcoming Disney+ Echo series, we know a return date. Two Daredevil characters, Kingpin and Daredevil, have been confirmed on the Echo series cast list as of today.
Murdoch and Co. Are Getting Slow Set-Ups
Though further seasons haven’t been confirmed for the Defenders crew, some of them seem to be getting cameos. The Daredevil/Matt Murdoch character made an appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home as Peter’s defense attorney. And Kingpin played a major role in the Hawkeye series, acting as the head of the Jumpsuit Mafia and the secret main villain of the series. They are both major players in the Hell’s Kitchen sector and the greater New York crime ring.
Where Do These Guys Fit Into Echo’s Story?
The more significant question at hand here is: where do these Daredevil characters fit into the Disney+ Echo series? After all, Fisk had an unsure fate after Hawkeye. That said, he is Maya/Echo’s uncle. He has a place here, whether through flashbacks or a more concrete future. Coincidentally, Daredevil’s place in Echo is unsure as well. He’s been rumored to return there for a while now. But this information finally seals it. The plot and finer details of Echo are still very murky. Either way, it seems Daredevil will be making his true return very soon.
