Adventurer’s rejoice! For your return to Thedas is almost at hand. (Or in hand in this case). Dark Horse Comics is working on a new Dragon Age comic book that releases this October. The team behind the previous comic, Knight Errant are all back together for Dragon Age: Deception.

Husband and wife writers Nunzio DeFilippis and Christina Weir return for a story of backstabbing, lies, and deceit.

Dragon Age: Deception follows the twisted tale of a con artist in Tevinter. Olivia Pryde, a failed actress turned successful con artist has come to the city of Ventus with a new target: the head of a wealthy house named Calix Qintara. But as Olivia gets closer to Calix, she realizes that he is not exactly who he says he is. And soon realizes that she is in too deep, and that they may no longer be playing her game.”

Colorist Michael Atiyeh and Artist Fernando Heinz Furukawa are working on the art. Furukawa has worked on titles such as Crossed, Stitched, God is Dead, and Dragon Age: Knight Errant. While Atiyeh has worked on Star Wars, Mass Effect, and Conan.

The comics and books expand on the lore developed since the 2009s release of Dragon Age: Origins. Since then, Bioware’s produced several other stories and games. Dragon Age: Inquisition, released in 2014, was the last in the series of video games developed by the company. Bioware says they are working on a new game, but not much is known about the upcoming sequel.

The first issue of Dragon Age: Deception will be on sale October 10, 2018. Dark Horse says the three-issue arc will also be available for pre-order at local comic book shops. Not too much longer to wait until we return to fight Darkspawn and witness all that is Thedas!
