It will come as little surprise that Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been a bright spot of whimsical entertainment during the current quarantine. A data mine of upcoming features from the popular game might hint at some exciting new updates.
The data mine was picked through in a series of tweets put out by Twitter user Ninji. An in-depth look at their discoveries and how they came to these conclusions can be seen here. However, Ninji warns fans that these possible additions are nowhere near confirmed and could possibly be old code or canceled ideas and events. With that being said, here are some of those exciting possibilities!
In their series of tweets, Ninji first comments on the museum and a possible third level. Potentially, the museum could house an art exhibit in the future, which may open the door for another familiar face. Crazy Redd, a fox from Animal Crossing: New Leaf, is a sketchy art dealer who deals in fake paintings. The data mine suggests he may dock a ship on the island’s coast to get his paws into the art game.
According to Ninji’s Animal Crossing findings, the museum isn’t the only business that could be getting an upgrade. Nook’s Cranny could have a potential upgrade, and Brewster’s Cafe could potentially see a comeback. Whether or not this is true, it does seem like shopping in-game will spark a big boom.
For all the fishermen out there, diving might also be making an appearance in Animal Crossing‘s future. Once donning a scuba suit, there’s a potential for new deep-sea creatures and villagers. On land, there might be some new vegetation and florals available. For the first time in Animal Crossing history, vegetables such as tomatoes, wheat, sugar cane, potatoes, carrots, and pumpkins may be available for planting.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now on the Nintendo Switch. The Earth Day event is right around the corner on April 22, 2020, and it’ll be interesting to see if any of these potential updates come to fruition.
