But, with the help of his friends, he might convince the world otherwise.

Dave speaks to the creators among us. It resonates with the workers and the doers. Through the laughs and jokes, there is a story about an artist striving to make it. We all know this desire well. Wanting to be the best, wanting to matter, not settling. It’s so relatable. No matter your thoughts on Lil Dicky’s music, the show is remarkable.

Likely the most interesting characters in the show, GaTa, is Dave’s hype man. As a matter of fact, GaTa is Lil Dicky’s real-life hype man, and ‘Dave’ is his acting debut.

Throughout the latter half of the show’s first season, the titular character is reluctant to share creative control of his music as any artist would be. Without spoiling anything, Dave sits face to face with an important decision at the end of the final episode. His action during this moment shows growth and maturity. Dave grew up a bit right then, and it’s a feeling I’ve felt within myself when making difficult decisions. A feeling I’m sure you are familiar with as well.
