Albert Alarr is no longer the co-executive producer of the Days of Our Lives following a misconduct investigation. Last week we reported that production on the long-running soap opera was paused due to this investigation. Alarr has been accused by 30 to 40 people, mostly women, of inappropriate comments and unwanted physical contact. Now, Alarr has exited the position, and series producer Janet Rucker has been promoted to replace him. Deadline has reported that 25 cast members of the Peacock series signed a petition to have Alarr replaced with a female director. The cast members have gotten their wish, and Alarr is out of his eight-year position.

The misconduct investigation surrounding Albert Alarr led Days of Our Lives executive producer Ken Corday to issue a statement. Corday wrote,

“Moving forward, we will be implementing additional HR protocols, including an increased HR presence as well as channels for reporting any concerns. It is imperative that we have a safe and inclusive workplace environment.”

Alarr’s alleged misconduct includes allegations of inappropriate kissing and groping. Many Days of Our Lives alum, including Lisa Rinna, are among those who wanted Alarr removed from his position. Arianne Zucker, who plays Nicole Walker in the series, also voiced her grievances regarding Alarr. Zucker expressly referred to Alarr’s frustration with her while she was filming an intimate scene. Zucker has eyewitness testimony to back her story up.

Days of Our Lives was expected to resume production this week, and Albert Alarr was expected to direct his typical Friday episode. However, the investigation into Alarr’s alleged behavior has postponed production for another week. Now, with Alarr officially out as executive producer, Days of Our Lives is set to return to its regular production schedule starting Monday.
