Daybreak Studios is getting ready to release the penultimate chapter in the episodic storyline War of the Light in DC Universe Online. Players will also travel to The Demon’s Pit to stop the continuing machinations of the League of Assassins.
Blackest Day is an eight-player Operation that has players attempting to stop Black Hand as attacks the sentient city of Ranx. Sinestro, the leader of the Yellow Lantern Corps, is away answering a distress call on his home planet of Qward. He is sending out teams to intercept Black Hand. However, Hand has managed to reach Lyssa Drak and is using his power to manipulate her.
The Demon’s Pit is a two-player alert where players will attempt to infiltrate the League of Assassins. Ra’s Al Ghul has abducted members of both the Justice League and the Society. Players must rescue them before they are forced to serve Ra’s.

DC Universe Online premium members can access this update for free. Other players will be able to gain access on November 11 by buying it on the marketplace.
The new chapter isn’t the only thing that is new to DC Universe Online. The Atomic powerset made its debut today as well. These powers are based on Firestorm and include the Radioactive and Nuclear power trees. This new power can be used in either the tank or damage roles. Premium members can also get access to these powers for free.
DC Universe Online is available as a free-to-play title for the PC, Playstation 3, and Playstation 4.
