The zombie apocalypse is coming – and Silent Dreams, creators of Dead Age 2, want you to know about it.
The team at Silent Dreams have recently released a video that looks back on the events of the first Dead Age, while showing off the features of the upcoming second game.
You can check out the aforementioned video right here:
The original Dead Age, released back in 2016, was a unique beast in that it combined survival horror and tactical RPG elements. Permanent death was a big element of the game and you had to manage survivors, craft items, and make difficult decisions to progress while defending your camp against the hordes of the undead.
Dead Age 2 promises to improve upon its predecessor by adding a number of features. Among these is a faction system where the player can complete quests, fight against or trade with. The way the player treats these factions ultimately affects their standing with them. The statement released with the video claims that DA2 “feels much more like an RPG” because of the quests and the way the player’s actions have consequences.
What’s more, the game has a “very large map” with over 80 locations, increasing the potential for survival and exploration. This will give the game a more open-world feel compared to its predecessor. As the video clearly shows, the base remains at the center of events and is modeled completely in 3D.
Having worked on the game for 3.5 years, the developers at Silent Dreams are confident that players will enjoy the game as much as they did the first.
As the video states, the game will release in Steam Early Access on Wednesday, June 3.
