Established video game publisher Level 99 Games is working with Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive for a fresh experience. The popular horror game is getting a physical port in the fashion of a new board game. Officially called Dead by Daylight: The Board Game, the teams will be launching a Kickstarter campaign on March 29.
The Entity Welcomes Dead by Daylight: The Board Game
The board game version of Dead by Daylight essentially clones the game’s horror experience into a physical one – in a good way, of course. 4 players are taking up the roles as Survivors while one additional player will act as the Killer. The Survivors must locate and repair generators as they cautiously try to evade the Killer. It’s incredibly well-known in the gaming industry, primarily due to the game’s frequent collaborations with other horror properties. These include Michael Myers as the Shape, Bubba Sawyer as the Cannibal, Pyramid Head as the Executioner, and many more.
Level 99 Games will be transferring the title onto the board game while maintaining its gameplay aesthetics, such as personas, interactive props, and the Trial Grounds. It’s meant to be catered to a wide variety of folks, from veterans to horror novices.
The Kickstarter campaign for Dead by Daylight: The Board Game will launch next month on March 29. The campaign will offer two versions of the board game: Standard and Collector’s Edition. The Standard will run you at $49.99, and it will include 6 Killers, 7 Survivors, and 2 maps. For the Collector’s Edition, it’ll be priced at $99.99, and you’ll receive 16 Killers, 17 Survivors, and 4 maps. Additionally, the latter edition will give you miniature hooks for the Killer to use and generators that can be on display.
Level 99 Games and Behaviour Interactive plan on releasing Dead by Daylight: The Board Game by Halloween this year. We’ll definitely check out the campaign to see its progress, but what are your thoughts? Is it interesting to play a board game version of an admired video game? Will you be ordering your edition when the Kickstarter launches? Let us know down in the comments!
