With E3 2017 rapidly approaching, gamers and fans all over the world are wondering what will be announced and shown. It is no surprise that Death Stranding has been at the top of everyone’s list. However, be prepared to be disappointed. In a tweet earlier this morning, Hideo Kojima announced that nothing about Death Stranding will be shown at E3 2017.
His tweet stated, “Apologies to our fans, Death Stranding will not be @ E3 as we are fully focused on development.” While the very first title from Kojima Productions will not be making an appearance at E3, the legend himself, Hideo Kojima, will still be attending the event. He will be attending an E3 Coliseum panel with the director, Jordan Vogt-Roberts, who will be working on the film adaptation of the Metal Gear Solid franchise. The E3 Coliseum is a two-day event planned by Geoff Keighley with panels with folks in the gaming and entertainment industries.
Although Kojima broke all of our hearts with his Twitter announcement, he did give us a little something to chew on. Along with his tweet, a new poster for Death Stranding was also released. The poster featured a black background with a stylized, white spider’s web and the word “Bridges” underneath it. At first glance, this combo might seem new, but we have already seen this image. In the trailer posted above, Del Torro’s character is seen wearing a pin of the United States with a spider web spreading across the states and “BRIDGES” can be seen underneath it. Despite seeing this before, we still have no idea as to what this could possibly mean.
Death Stranding is the first title from Kojima Productions and will be a PS4 exclusive, and there is no release date as of yet. For all of your E3 news and coverage, keep an eye on The Nerd Stash!
