What are Decision Missions in Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon? Rather than being open-world like the developers’ previous title, Elden Ring, Armored Core 6 is mission-based. Each mission centers around a different objective. There are the main campaign missions you need to complete to finish the game’s narrative, and there are optional missions that won’t affect the story’s outcome. However, Decision Missions are significant to the Armored Core 6’s narrative. Your choice will determine the game’s direction. The benefits of each Decision Mission vary, but you must understand what they are.

You select missions from the Sortie Menu in Armored Core 6. The Sortie Menu shows you an image of the map of Rubicon, showing where the mission takes place. Next to the map is the mission’s description, including objectives, rewards, and a few details.

The Sortie Menu will sometimes reveal more than one mission during a chapter. A unique icon will appear on the right of each mission’s name. The same icon will be found at the bottom of the mission’s description. The description will have the icon labeled Decision, making it a Decision Mission.

More than one Decision Mission will be available to you during a chapter, but you will only be able to pick one. Once you’ve decided on a mission, most, if not all, of the other Decision Missions will disappear from the Sortie Menu. That’s because you decided to side with a specific fraction or have done something that hinders another fraction. Decision Missions do affect the title’s story.

Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon features multiple fractions, each with its own goal. You play as a mercenary and have the freedom to play in any way you want. Every Decision Mission offers you a special kind of reward, yet you will also miss out on certain prizes by not accepting other Decision Missions. There’s no way to backtrack and choose a different Decision unless you start a new game.
