The Peregrine Greaves are a pair of Titan Exotic leg armor in Destiny 2, and some pretty good ones at that. With the changes made in the Season of the Wish, this already impressive leg armor got quite a lot better. While Exotics can be quite tricky to obtain sometimes, it’s well worth it to put the effort into getting these if you run the Titan Guardian class at all. The Peregrine Greaves allow for a stronger shoulder charge ability, making your attacks nearly unstoppable in nearly any game mode, whether it’s PvP, PvE, or even PvEvP. If I were you, I wouldn’t waste any time. Get your hands on them, and get out there to kick some Guardian and Champion butt.
Obtaining the Peregrine Greaves in Destiny 2
Since the Peregrine Greaves are a piece of Exotic Armor, it only makes sense that you’d have to put in a decent amount of work to be able to get your hands on them. As of the Season of the Wish, you can only obtain the Peregrine Greaves in one way:
- Through Exotic Engrams.
- Through extremely rare world drops when completing Ritual Activites like Vanguard, Gambit, and Crucible.
Why are Peregrine Greaves so Great? Answered
The Peregrine Greaves were already pretty overpowered before the Season of the Wish update. The special ability of them, Peregrine Strike, causes bonus damage on airborne shoulder charge attacks. However, Peregrine Greaves are definitely taking off in terms of how effective and useful they are now.
With the updates to Exotic Armor pieces made in the Season of the Wish update for Destiny 2, Peregrine Greaves work a bit differently now. Unfortunately, you must be airborne for a longer amount of time before the Exotic’s special ability will apply, but that’s not really a big deal considering the other changes.
Now, damaging Champions, Tormentors, or minibosses with a Shoulder Charge deals further increased damage, and actually refunds your melee energy as well, making it insanely overpowered. While this doesn’t apply to PvP matches in Crucible, it still makes a huge difference in anything else.
Without a doubt, if you play as a Titan class Guardian, I would suggest trying your hardest to get a set of Peregrine Greaves to add to your arsenal. Who knows, you might find you like them even more than you first thought you would.
