Something New is a Legendary hand cannon offering serious damage and long-distance shooting in Destiny 2. While each year the handguns disappoint on many levels, the Solstice 2023 event has sparked some new life into these weapons. Something New is a highly sought-after weapon in the game. With every new event update, the handguns need some updating to their God Roll. We will review each attachment and curate the best God Roll possible for the Something New handgun in Destiny 2.

The handguns were never the star of the show in PVE modes, but the buffs in Solstice 2023 event have really done an excellent job of making these small weapons usable. As it stands, the handgun gains immensely by assisting, making it a team-play weapon. The Origin Trait of the weapon refills 66% of the magazine for assists in the game. The Something New gun benefits from all the updates but requires a good God Roll to shine in the battle.

PVE God Roll for Something New

Barrel: Corkscrew Rifling
Magazine: Ricochet Rounds
Basic Trait 1: Feeding Frenzy/Wellspring
Basic Trait 2: Stats for All/ Demolitionist
Origin Trait: Dream Work
Basic Trait: and Stats for all Wellspring/ Demon
Masterwork: Handling
Mod: Minor Spec

The Corkscrew Rifling and Ricochet Rounds will enhance the overall feel of the weapon. Both Feeding Frenzy and Stats for All will go well with Headstone in the last column. This will enable you to kill multiple units, or strike assists and get that magazine boost. However, if you opt for Wellspring along with Demolitionist, it will grant you 18% grenade ability energy and 8% energy to other abilities. This God Roll is insane if you think how much advantage you have in the energy department.

PVP Build for Something New

Barrel: Fluted Barrel
Magazine: High-Caliber Rounds
Basic Trait 1: Wellspring
Basic Trait 2: Harmony
Origin Trait: Dream Work
Masterwork: Handling
Mod: Quick Access Sling

With good handling from the Fluted Barrel and the High-Caliber Rounds adding some distance to the weapon, you are set with the PVP God Roll. Similar to the previous build, the Wellspring perk will give you the energy for this mode, helping you use your abilities with the extra energy. The Harmony perk will provide you with some more handling and better damage numbers.

That sums up our God Rolls for Something New in both PVP and PVE game modes of the game.
